We are an independent group, run by authors, for authors. Every year we attend a number of events, including our own book festival, where we market and sell our books. Members unable to attend such events can add their titles to our stock, which we attempt to sell on their behalf, whilst taking no commission.

These days, few authors have a large marketing budget behind them. By joining New Writers UK, your books will be listed on our website and benefit from other forms of promotion. In addition to this, each member has their own individual page (on the website) and the opportunity to write articles for our blog or newsletter.

Once you have been accepted as a member, you will have access to our group insurance. This public liability insurance (PLI), covers members when selling their books at events.

As a non-profit making group, New Writers UK (and NW Overseas) uses its membership fees to help our members. The fees are needed to help to promote our authors to outside agencies, book stores, literary festivals, etc. For this, we charge a £30.00 annual membership fee. This helps us to cover the cost of advertising, venue hire, printing posters, flyers, postage and mail-shots. We also use the money to help fund our festivals, and to covering any other expenses of guests and services.

Our priority lies with our autors and their books; however, we also have an associate membership. Our associates get access to our members and a presence on our website, whilst benefitting from being linked with the New Writers UK name. Associates include: editors, graphic designers, illustrators, proof-readers, reviewers, web designers and cover designers.
