Peikwan Simpson studied at the Universities of Nottingham and Leicester, receiving a BA (Hons) degree in

Sociology and a Diploma in Business Management respectively. She is an Associate of the Society for

Editors and Proofreaders, and has undergone training with them.

Peikwan has previously worked in clinical data management, which fine-tuned her attention to detail and

analytic skills. Her experience has been put to good use in proofreading and editing academic texts,

particularly in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences. Peikwan specializes in proofreading

postgraduate theses and post-doctoral conference papers. Her university clients include international

students as well as those with conditions such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.

Peikwan has experience in proofreading and copy-editing other fiction and non-fiction books, ranging

from children’s poetry to an anthology of philosophical essays. Her real passion lies in children’s literature,

which developed since she became more involved in her children’s schools. However, Peikwan is happy

to work (on-screen or on hard copy) with any author in need of a professional and diligent proofreader/

copy-editor.
